There are fewer than 100,000 Jews still alive today
who were in camps, ghettos and living secretly under Nazi occupation, according to the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany. These aging survivors are the last generation of witnesses to the Holocaust. Who will tell their stories when these survivors are no longer able to? WE will tell their stories.
is a social media campaign designed to inspire and engage people of all ages, backgrounds and religions to publish a spoken or written promise to continue telling the story of a specific Holocaust Survivor. This is done through posting a short video and/or a photograph and caption.
Please watch our video (on the left) about the #IWillTellYourStory campaign, and scroll through recent #IWillTellYourStory posts on our Twitter and Facebook accounts.
Six million pledges/posts to honour the six million Jews murdered in the Holocaust
The Survivor you choose can be a family member, someone you have connected with in your community, or somebody you have never even met. You may choose somebody living today, or somebody who is no longer with us. If you do not know a Survivor, please contact us, and we will match you with one.
Pledges may be made alone or in groups. If possible, your Survivor may accompany you in your photo/video
Publish your pledge
on your own social media pages, or e-mail with your photo/video and caption for us to post!
Please hashtag #IWillTellYourStory #Liberation75
...and tag us!
We will be sharing these stories with our Liberation75 registrants and guests at the conference in 2021.
This is a crucial time in history.
Holocaust survivors are aging. Funding for Holocaust educational initiatives is declining. At the same time, incidents of antisemitism are on the rise. It has never been more important to find new and innovative ways of reaching and inspiring people, both within and outside of the Jewish community, to pledge our support to Holocaust remembrance and to carry forward the stories of survivors.
#IWillTellYourStory is a call-to-action for the entire Jewish community and beyond. Join the movement!
