Voices from the Maghreb - North African Jews during the Holocaust

The Ghetto Fighters House

Grade 7 - 11

The activity focuses on the personal stories of Jews from Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, and Libya during the Holocaust. At that time, Jews were dismissed from public service positions, forced into labor, and some were deported to concentration camps in Libya and Germany. This activity also explores the struggle of North African Jews and their descendants to integrate the story of the Jews of the Maghreb into the broader Holocaust narrative.
